The air buzzed in Marine Biology as Brian Saunders passed back papers and reminded people about to write their number on the back of their homework. Chris studied the story he had written last class, realizing how short it really was.
"Yeah," Brittany replied in response to Chris. "It's gonna come out like this small." She gestured with her hands to show how small she figured it would condense to.

Brittany sat in class, drawing swirling vortexes on her paper in a mindless manner. Biomes were of no interest to her and she really had no desire to head to Marine Biology either. Chris wrote furiously in his sketchbook, pausing a moment to look at Brittany, causing her to pause her doodling and meet his stare with a confused look. She looked away once again, though Chris continued to make an weird face. He then resumed writing until he slammed his pen down.
